8 April 2011
Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.
A man was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the web.
The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.
He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.
The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be harmful.
"These kinds of products being offered, generally online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.
"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
